We are biased, but with a real Christmas tree you just can’t beat the look, texture and smell.

This year especially, we’ve all been appreciating the natural world much more. We’ve been enjoying getting out for walks when we’ve been unable to do many of the other things we’d normally do.

COVID and associated lockdown restrictions have made us all connect with nature more, whether we’ve been walking, riding or even getting out in our gardens.

As well as this increased link with nature, there’s been a much great appreciation of the natural world, the environment and the seasons.

We’ve lost count of the number of people who have told us they have heard bird song again after years of thinking it had stopped. So many have taken the time to just sit and look at the view and admire nature’s handiwork.

Now we’re entering a period when getting outside, even in a small way, may be tricky for many as the weather turns and the clocks change. So, the best thing you can do now is bring the natural world in to you.

Bringing something natural, grown-locally and gloriously green inside during the winter, when it’s cold and dark, and decorating it with twinkling lights and cheerful decorations, provides a real tonic. It boosts all the senses and brings much needed joy. These feelings help improve our wellbeing too, as we’re releasing happy endorphins when we look at our tree.

Every real Christmas tree is unique. And you can make it a family tradition each Christmas to travel to your nearest Christmas tree grower to pick your tree.

It creates memories and it’s something we know many of our customers look forward to each year. It’s another chance to spend some time outdoors in a safe, COVID secure place too.

Another benefit of having a real Christmas tree is that they are much better for the environment.

They are grown as a field crop so as soon as one is cut, another is planted. Christmas trees help to reduce greenhouse gases by absorbing carbon dioxide while they are growing, and they lock in methane too. Then, once the twelfth night comes, they can be made into chippings or mulch too. It’s the perfect circle of life.

Our Christmas trees also provide an excellent habitat for many bird species and we make sure we do not disturb nests or young birds when we’re working on the plantation.

Being environmentally-sound is getting more and more important to us all. It also has a positive impact on everyone’s wellbeing if we’re all able to do what we feel is the right thing and to make choices that are good for the planet.
