We’re over the moon that, with the help of our customers, we collected £3,902 for Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) last year (2019).

This is a fantastic amount of money. In 2018, we raised £3,662 for the charity. We’re delighted we were able to exceed that figure in 2019.

The £3,902 was raised by providing visitors to our Christmas tree farm with hot chocolates, teas, coffees and mince pies. People then gave a donation to the charity. We were assisted with these efforts by volunteers from CHSW. They were a great help, so a thank you goes to them.

However, without our customers’ ongoing support, this would not have been possible. A huge ‘thank you’ to each and every one of you.

CHSW is currently the only provider of specialist hospice care for children in the region. It offers much needed support for youngsters with a life-limiting or life-threatening condition and their families at its three hospices. They are Charlton Farm in North Somerset, Little Bridge House in North Devon and Little Harbour in Cornwall.

Laura Robertson, Community Fundraiser at CHSW, said: “We’d like to say thank you to the Hendy family and its generous customers for raising this amazing amount of money for CHSW. The money will continue to provide care and respite for children with limiting conditions and their families from Somerset and across the south west. We simply couldn’t do what we do without the support of our local community.”

We also donated a number of trees to charities in Somerset including St Margaret’s Hospice, SeeAbility and Somerset Sight.

To add to all this, we provided, free of charge, three large freshly cut Christmas trees to Wiveliscombe, Wellington and Taunton town centres to help them celebrate the yuletide.
