We’re inviting families to a series of late-night open evenings here from November 28 until December 9, excluding weekends, with some musical entertainment.

Making it extra special

Coming to pick a Christmas tree in the evening is a magical experience for the family and this year we wanted to make it as special as possible. We will be open every weeknight until 8pm on November 28, 29 and 30 as well as December 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9. We will also have some Christmassy entertainment for anyone who decides to visit us on December 1, 2, 8 and 9.

Live entertainment

Professional singer and musician Andy Doran will be entertaining our visitors on Thursday, December 1 and Thursday, December 8 from 6.30pm. Andy has nearly 40 years’ experience as a professional musician having played in numerous groups. He has previously toured with the late, great Cornish comedian, Jethro, and performed for King Charles III, when he was Prince Charles, and for the young Princes William and Harry. His repertoire includes a variety of classic and modern songs.

On Friday, December 2, The Ukes of Wellington, a group of Somerset ukulele players of all abilities, who meet weekly, will be at Langford Lakes Christmas Tree Farm playing their ukuleles for visitors from 6.30pm.

To round off the late-night open evenings, soloist Allanå Chloe will be singing for us on Friday, December 9 from 5.30pm.

Fundraising and refreshments

We are hoping to collect as much money as possible for Children’s Hospice South West on the evenings. Last year we managed to raise £1,828 for the organisation throughout December, with the help of Irie 7 mobile coffee shop from Taunton.

They’ve been a wonderful addition to our team for the festivities for the past two years and really helped bring a jolly atmosphere to the proceedings. So, we’re delighted Irie 7 are back again this year selling paninis, hot drinks, even a cream tea for two, waffles and mince pies.
